What is Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, How Does it Work?

5 element acupuncture works not just on one’s body, but on the mind and reconnects spirit as well.  Attuning to nature, this medicine brings your body’s energy system back into balance with itself. In so doing, your body, mind, and spirit can more easily clear the symptoms you’ve faced.

This medicine, originating in China, is thousands of years old.  Through the use of acupuncture needles, thinner than human hair, the acupuncturist can stimulate the body's energetic meridians increasing the flow of Qi which gives strength to the healing process and supports continued good health.

Our first session together is a comprehensive health interview where I will ask you about your physical health concerns, your personal health history, your family's health history, your life history, your family's history, your daily habits, and both an Eastern and Western physical exam.  This is all to get a broad and thorough view of what has affected your health and how to help.  All told, our first session lasts 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  No needling is generally done in the first session.  The cost is $80.

On our second and subsequent visits, needling will occur after I follow up with you regarding your health and life stressors and carefully create a treatment plan with our clinic supervisor staff to bring forth your greatest health in body, mind, and spirit. Follow-up visits are $58 per two-hour treatment (financial need and student status qualify for additional discounts).

This form of acupuncture is a specialized approach to healing your body, not just for physical symptoms, but as many people understand, disease (dis-ease) often starts with our mind and emotions. Not remedied there, it can become physical in nature.  Classical Five-Element Acupuncture is one of the few medical practices that also recognize the importance of healing at the mental and emotional levels.  This makes our treatments especially helpful for any clients who have undergone trauma past or present.

It is with great humility and gratitude that I have for you as you consider embarking on this broad level of healing.  Contact me with any further questions you have.  Click the chat box or contact info at the bottom of the page.
